Producer: LUIANO
The history of Luiano stretches back to 9th Century Chianti, where it was well known for its wine and olive oil production. In the late middle ages it was chosen by a noble family, allied with the Medici, to build a beautiful villa, fort and farm (which still stands today). Over the years Luiano has belonged to several of the most renown families of Florence including the Mellini Borromei and the Strozzi. It is a beautiful property, with a strong tradition for Chianti wine making and the back drop of Tuscan history.
In 1959, the villa and vineyards were purchased by the Palombo family, who continue to run the winery to this day. The family has always sought to continue the long standing traditions of the property, whilst still propelling it into Modern day. The result is a selection of wines that are both classic and experiemental.
