Producer: Luiano
Luiano’s history dates back to the middle ages, as a well-known wine and olive oil-producing estate. At the time, allies of the powerful Medici family built a lavish villa, fort, and farm on the site, which still stands today. Now owned by the Palombo family, this ‘Ottantuno’ cuvée celebrates both the historyand modernity of Chianti, as it refers to the year (1981) that the new winery was founded. 100% Sangiovese, this wine is also a ‘Gran Selezione’ denoting its superior quality among other Chianti Classicos. Remarkable aromatic notes of fruit and spices set this wine apart, with hints of chamomile and vanilla rounding out the bouquet. Full and round on the palate, it is enjoyable now but also age-worthy.
Pairing suggestion: game meats or a juicy steak.
